Foundation 2002

EPOLOG Exportverpackung und Logistik GmbH is founded by Stephan Wiegers on 01.10.2002 in Alheim-Heinebach. The current headquarters of the management in the Hanau branch is supported by 15 employees at the time.

2003 - 2005

2003
Takeover of the shipping department of a large German mechanical engineering company in Bad Hersfeld.

2005
Opening of the Hamburg branch and expansion of the range of services to include container stowage/packing stations. More than 60 employees work for EPOLOG Exportverpackung und Logistik GmbH.

2006 - 2010

2006
Strong expansion of the packaging, container stowage, forwarding, warehousing and service business areas. Particular attention was paid to the container stowage segment.

2007
EPOLOG Exportverpackung und Logistik GmbH is training apprentices for the first time in the field of forwarding and logistics services.

2008
EPOLOG Exportverpackung und Logistik GmbH expands the warehouse capacity of its Hamburg branch to 26,000 square meters in order to meet the increased requirements of its packaging and container stowage customers. At the same time, the company moves into a second location in Hamburg at the Dradenau terminal.

2009
Opening of the Hauneck-Unterhaun branch (near Bad Hersfeld).
For the first time, EPOLOG Exportverpackung und Logistik GmbH employs more than 100 people in the various branches.

2010
EPOLOG Exportverpackung und Logistik GmbH is expanding its storage capacity in Hanau to 16,000 square meters for the long-term storage of several projects.

2011 - 2015

2011
EPOLOG Exportverpackung und Logistik GmbH has completely revised and redesigned its company logo, corporate design and website.

2012
The branch in Schmidts Breite, Hamburg will be closed on June 30, 2012 in order to bundle activities at the Antwerpenstrasse/Dradenau Hamburg location.

2014
EPOLOG Exportverpackung und Logistik GmbH relocates its headquarters from Hanau to Erlensee.

2015
Opening of a further branch in Gedern-Ober-Seemen/Wetteraukreis and establishment of an efficient production facility.

The acquisition of a new optimizing cross-cut saw with positioning pusher increases production and manufacturing capacity to enable automatic and fast cross-cutting of boards and squared timber.

2016 - 2020

2016
Construction of a 600 square meter warehouse at the Ober-Seemen/Gedern site in the Wetterau district for the management of preliminary products for aircraft production.

2017

Opening of a further branch in Hamburg.

At the Ober-Seemen site, an old joinery system is replaced by a new cutting saw to expand the production options and increase capacity, allowing any angle and inclination cuts to be made. The 5-axis saw unit, which can be swiveled through 360° and tilted through 90° at the same time, enables all types of cross-cuts and miter cuts to be produced quickly, precisely and with a high surface quality.

At the Hauneck-Unterhaun site, ground is broken for the construction of a new 1,600 m² warehouse.

2018
In August 2018, the 1,600 m² hall in Hauneck-Unterhaun (near Bad Hersfeld) will be put into operation. The hall is equipped with the latest LED lighting and lighting control and enables the weather-free storage of our customers’ machines and plant components.

2019
Another dependent branch is opened in the Schenck Technology and Industrial Park in Darmstadt.

2020

Takeover of a further packaging site at the Bad Hersfeld location.

At this time, more than 170 employees work for EPOLOG Exportverpackung und Logistik GmbH.

2021 - 2024

2021

Acquisition of a further packaging location at the Schweinfurt site.

The forklift fleet at the Hamburg site was renewed. The highlight here is the new Kalmar reach stacker with an eco-machine, which saves around 20% fuel in eco mode and has an integrated overheight frame for even safer handling of overheight or overwide loads.
At the same time, 2 diesel forklifts were replaced with electric forklifts at the Ober-Seemen sites. In Erlensee and Hauneck, 2 existing diesel forklifts will also be replaced with electric forklifts in the near future.

Important steps for our environment to further reduce our CO2 emissions in the provision of our services.

At this time, more than 170 employees work for EPOLOG Exportverpackung und Logistik GmbH.
